Dagenham Heathway is the LB Barking and Dagenham's second town centre.

The Heathway through Dagenham Dock down to the River Thames has been identified by the London Mayor, Ken Livingston, as one of the 100 important public spaces in London where improvements to the street can add real value to the quality of peoples' lives.

The initial stage of the works includes the removal of excessive street clutter and guardrailings, the replacing of the old and worn pavements with new high quality footpath materials, the installation of cycle parking and the replacement of the existing street lighting.
