Gravesend Station Quarter

As part of Gravesham Borough Council's ongoing regeneration activity, it has been the Council's objective to create a comprehensive masterplan for the area around Gravesend Station, one of the main transport interchanges in Kent Thameside. Burns + Nice led a team of specialist consultants including Grimshaw, MVA, Donaldsons and Gardiner & Theobald to develop a master plan to establish a framework for future action and to co-ordinate developments in order to realize the potential of the area and to make a major contribution to the Town Centre Strategy and the wider plans for the regeneration of Kent Thameside.

The area includes the Station Quarter as identified in the Gravesend Town Centre Strategy for Action together with adjoining frontages and sites in the Shopping Quarter, the Hospital and Commercial Quarter, the Civic / Leisure Quarter and the residential area to the south of the station. The Town Centre Strategy categorizes the Station Quarter as the highest priority in the continuing transformation of the town centre as a major destination within Kent Thameside.
