Kennington Cross

We were appointed by Transport for London to prepare designs for the environmental improvement of Kennington Cross, one of north Lambeth's main local shopping and business centres.

The scheme provided traffic management and public transport improvements to assist vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, bus passengers and people with disabilities. As well as assisting with the regeneration of the local economy the scheme restored a central focus for the Kennington neighbourhood and sought to attract visitors to its heritage sites. The £1 million scheme was completed in 2003 and was highly commended in the Local Government News 2003 Street Design Awards.
