GWT Greenwich Waterfront Transit

Greenwich Waterfront Transit (GWT) is part of the Thames Gateway Transit network, which is intended to provide a fully integrated public transport system to help maximise the potential to regenerate the Thames Gateway area.

The main aim of the Thames Gateway Transit network is to link local town centres and housing and employment areas on both sides of the Thames. GWT Phase 1 will operate between North Greenwich London Underground station and Abbey Wood National Rail station, via Woolwich Town Centre, Royal Arsenal, the Thames Gateway Bridge Area and Thamesmead. The project objectives are to develop a high quality, environmentally sustainable, well-designed, economical, safe and accessible urban realm design for the implementation of GWT Phase 1.
