Dual spaces at the centre of a two-acre scheme including retail, restaurants, office space and residential apartments

Burns + Nice were appointed as landscape architects for this major new development in the heart of Covent Garden.

The site of almost two acres is bounded by St Martin’s Lane, Long Acre, Shelton Street and Mercer Street. The mixed use scheme which includes 23 shops, five restaurants, 69,000 sq. ft. of offices in four buildings and 34 apartments, was developed through a programme of phased regeneration and new development. St Martin’s Courtyard has been created at the centre of scheme with access from Long Acre, Mercer Street and Upper St Martin’s Lane. The courtyard is designed to provide two distinct spaces, a larger one with seating which can be used as an events space and a more intimate one with a central curved sculptural granite feature, lighting and planting overlooked by al fresco dining.
